Part 1: What is NutriClear?
NutriClear is a chemically defined food designed to support the nutritional needs of a wide spectrum of patients--even those who are sensitive to certain foods or chemicals. NutriClear has been formulated with the highest quality ingredients and is compatible with vegetarian diets. This product is intended to be used with a low allergenic diet, a diet that minimizes exposure to foods to which you are likely to be allergic or sensitive.
NutriClear is often used as meat replacements in cleansing or "metabolic clearing" programs. Metabolic clearing refers to the processes responsible for eliminating toxic substances that have built up in the body. Most people encounter toxic agents in their work or home environment, due to pollutants in air, water and beverages, and, of course, foods. Drugs and alcohol also contribute to the toxic burden, as do potentially harmful materials generated by intestinal bacteria. Removing accumulated toxic materials enables the body to recover from imbalances and therefore enables to work more efficiently.
Part 2: How Can NutriClear Help Balance the Body's Chemistry?
Specific nutrients can help improve your nutritional status in a variety of ways:
*Help convert fat and carbohydrate to energy, while maintaining muscle tissue.
Some nutrients, such as amino acids, function as building blocks: others are enzyme helpers (cofactors that function as metabolic spark plugs); still others function as fuels to run the body's machinery. When these are limited by inadequate diet, problems with digestion or absorption, nutritional imbalances and reduced ability to repair wear and tear can occur.
Key nutrients:
B vitamins - nacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid
Trace Elements - zinc, copper, manganese
Amino acids - Pea protein isolate (NutriClear) together with lysine, threonine.
Fuels and essential fatty acids.
*Help eliminate potentially harmful substances
NutriClear provides a full range of nutrients that support the processing and disposal of waste materials and other potentially harmful materials. The liver functions as the body's major waste disposal unit and specific nutrients can help in this role.
Key nutrients: Niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, zinc. cysteine, glutathione
*Help protect the body against free radicals and oxidation
Pollutants such as ozone and nitrogen oxides, cigarette smoke and other substances lead to the formation of free radicals -"pyromaniac molecules" - that randomly attack cells and increase the body's need for substances called antioxidants, which block free radicals.
Key antioxidants: Natural mixed carotenoids, vitamins C & E, N-acetylcysteine, selenium, glutathione.
*Help improve intestinal health
The intestinal lining is the primary barrier against foreign materials. When the intestine is compromised, digestion and nutrient absorption decrease, and the intestine may become "leaky," allowing unwanted substances to enter the bloodstream.
Keys to intestinal health: trace minerals, B complex vitamins and the amino acid, L-glutamine (amino acid) and quercetin (bioflavonoid).
Part 3: Suggestions for Using NutriClear
Q. What Kinds of dietary restrictions should I follow?
A. Each Person's situation is unique. The details of a cleansing program, including a diet best suited for your needs, need to be worked out with your health care provider. Your diet should contain minimal allergens. This guide provides a variety of food choices you may wish to consider for a low-allergen diet.
It should be emphasized that NutriClear is not a weight loss meal replacement. Counting calories (and serving sizes) may not be required for cleansing programs.
Q. How often should I take NutriClear?
A. The duration of usage and the amount to be consumed depend on your individual needs, which in turn reflect the severity of your problems, the level of antioxidant defenses, and your nutritional state.
The general recommended approach is to increase the number of servings of NutriClear gradually, over several days, up to 3-5 servings daily. After using 3 to 5 servings for a period of time, gradually taper off. You and your health care provider can determine the number of servings and the sequence best suited to you.
The following steps allow a gradual introduction to NutriClear:
INTRODUCTORY PERIOD
1 scoop NutriClear, 3 times daily (1 to 7 days depending on one's tolerance)
INTERMEDIATE PERIOD
2 scoops, 2 times daily, (for 1 to 7 days depending on one's tolerance), then 2 scoops, 3 times daily (1 to 7 days depending on one's tolerance).
COMPLETE MEAL REPLACEMENT
2 scoops, 5 times daily (1-3 days)
(NOTE: Certain foods from the recommended list may also be eaten if the patient does not tolerate replacing all meals with NutriClear).
TAPER DOWN
then 2 scoops, 3 times daily for 2 days,
then 2 scoops, 2 times daily for 2 days.
Q. How should I mix NutriClear?
A. Use 1 to 2 scoops of NutriClear per 4 oz. of water or diluted juice, as directed in your personalized plan. Pear, apple, and pineapple juices are options. Citrus is not recommended because allergies to this group are common. Try to use organic produce for vegetable and fruit juices. NutriClear can also be mixed with applesauce. Non-wheat fiber may be added as directed by your health care provider. In order to preserve the glutamine content, mix only the amount of NutriClear needed for a single serving. Do not store foods or drinks, which contain NutriClear.
Q. When should I begin to feel better?
A. Your medical history, including the use of medications and exposure to toxic materials in the work place, and your age can affect the rate of improvement and a slower response time might be expected for older patients. Most people begin to feel better within 1 to 2 weeks of using a cleansing program; others may take a longer time to see an improvement in their symptoms.
Q. What side effects can I expect?
A. Individual response to cleansing programs is highly variable due to personal differences in biochemical makeup, stress levels, toxin buildup and medical histories. Individuals sometimes experience headaches, joint pain, mood swings, constipation or other side effects. These side effects are commonly associated with cleansing programs and usually dissipate within 7 to 10 days. Notify your health care provider if you develop any adverse symptoms or encounter any discomfort in using this product with your individualized program.
Part 4: General Dietary Guidelines
1. Avoid consuming foods that you do not tolerate, or that cause reactions, while you are using NutriClear together with a metabolic cleansing program.
2. The following are common food allergens that you may be advised to avoid:
- Gluten-containing grains, such as wheat (including spelt, triticale and kamut), barley, rye, oats
- Corn and corn products
- Milk and milk products. Milk proteins are common allergens and many people have difficulty digesting large amounts of milk sugar.
3. Reduce or eliminate your consumption of the following:
- Caffeine-containing foods. Caffeine stimulates the adrenal glands, which may already be overworked.
- Alcohol. Alcohol is cleared mainly by the liver and its presence in the system increases gut permeability. Alcohol consumption places a drain on the liver at a time when the liver is processing other potentially dangerous materials.
- High-sugar foods. They provide little fiber and trace nutrients.
- High-fat foods. Cutting back on fatty foods is a general recommendation for dietary change when excessive calories are consumed.
4. Be sure to eat at least 3-5 servings of fresh vegetables and 2-3 servings of fruit daily after metabolic cleansing. Your vegetable selections should include sources of carotenoids -- dark leafy vegetables or orange vegetables.
5. Animal protein. Lamb, turkey or chicken, and deep-sea fish are often better tolerated than pork or beef. Canned fish may contain extra salt or oil. Choose low-fat meat options and broil, bake, steam or grill entrees rather than frying them.
6. Water. Drink plenty of pure water. The recommended amount is 1 mouthful every 30 minutes while awake. Water is essential for the kidneys to clear toxins and wastes from the blood. The safest may be distilled water, boiled water or water that has been filtered through a 1-micron filter to exclude parasites (Cryptosporidium).
7. Juices. Follow the recommendation of your health care provider regarding fruit juices. Even fresh juices contain high levels of fruit sugar (fructose). Canned fruit or juices containing added table sugar (sucrose) are not recommended.
8. Nutritional supplements. Lactic acid (probiotic) supplements and fiber like flax seed, as recommended by your health care provider, can be used in conjunction with NutriClear. Extra dietary fiber (except for wheat bran) can help with constipation or diarrhea.
9. You may be instructed to follow an elimination diet to uncover hidden food sensitivities by your health care provider.
10. Adequate rest and stress reduction are keys to the healing process. Exercise in moderation during a cleansing program.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
**NutriClear is not intended for weight loss.
**NutriClear is not appropriate for children, or for pregnant or lactating
women
**People who have problems with blood sugar regulation should consult their health care providers before using NutriClear.
Part 5: Food Exchange Lists
The following categories of foods are grouped according to related food families. Each serving of a food for a given food family will provide about the same calories, and the same amounts of carbohydrate, fat and protein. Because portions within a given group are approximately equivalent, they may be substituted for each other to give you a variety in planning your meals.
