DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) 10 mg

DHEA is sometimes called the "mother hormone" because it is a precursor to testosterone, estrogen, and other sex hormones. We use Biotics Research Corp.'s product which is pharmaceutical grade 10mg tablets.

We use it for support of the immune system, improvement of cognition, memory and mood, for stress, and for menopausal conditions including osteoporosis. It is also being studied as a preventative for cancer and cardiovascular disease.

After the age of 45 years you may want to have your DHEA-sulfate blood levels checked as a part of your yearly blood tests. If your blood levels are below the normal for a "young adult", consider supplementing with DHEA.

We suggest a beginning dose of 25mg for women and 50mg for men per day. Have your DHEA levels checked in about 3 months to make sure the dosage is correct. You should aim for the DHEA levels of a young adult of about 25 years of age, and no higher. Adjust your dosage as needed, i.e. some people need only 10mg per day, others may need twice that amount.
